What are your new programs for this season?
“Voila” choreographed by Jeffrey Buttle, which I skated for Stars On Ice Japan, and “Stabat Mater” choreographed by a dancer Kenta Kojiri. These two, and also I have one I created with Stéphane. I’ve never performed it in public. I want to perform it for The Ice. I’m practicing it.
You’ve been saying you want to skate to genuine flamenco, right?
Yes, I’ve been saying that. We’ve planned to use a different song but the day before we create the program Stephane told me that he wanted to choose another song. He seemed to have an idea in his mind. Then we created it. I really want to skate it soon.
What kind of program is it?
The song is genuine flamenco. It relatively doesn’t have melody. I even want Stephane to skate to it lol
Do you think you can show your new attraction?
Although I’ve skated to flamenco before, I’ve only skated to the famous songs like Poeta. It’s difficult (to skate to the new flamenco program) because people are not familiar with the song. I want to become a skater that people want to keep seeing all the time, so I want to try my hardest as the first step.
Is it fun to create a program with Stephane?
It is really. Stephane creates a program that Stephane himself want to skate to. It’s fun because we skate together putting the music on in the process of the creation.
