Broadcasted on 11 June 2022, BS Asashi

Q. How do you feel after the first performance today?
After the first performance today, I feel happy and at the same time I wish I could’ve done a bit better. I was trying to look for the flow, and I was all too rushing, or too slow, so I’m not super satisfied with performance, but happy that I was able to be there and skate for the audience. I really enjoy being back in shows and it feels so special to perform.

Q. About the programs
In the first half I’m skating to “Lost” by Dermot Kennedy. And the concept of this program is basically at the beginning, in the intro, I’m thinking about myself, and it’s the defining of being home, but at the same time being outside. You’re not far from home and you’re thinking about yourself and suddenly you’re kind of lost. You lost your way and you start dreaming. Then in this dream, there is the performance, where I’m really free and I’m really enjoying everything. And then at the end, I’m back in the street, and very close to home, and the dream is over. The reality takes over. So this is the “Lost”.

Then in the second act, I’m skating to “This Bitter Earth”. It’s defining of the energy that we have in ourselves and the energy that we also have everywhere in the nature on this earth. With this energy, we can give or we can take. Nature gives us a lot, but sometimes nature is also very devastating. So we need to find balance with ourselves and with our nature.
